Horizon family brand get Organic dairy company Maple Hill Creamery.
The transaction expands Horizon’s dairy portfolio, which currently includes milk, cheese, butter and cream products from Horizon Organic and Wallaby Organic.
Maple Hill Creamery was founded in 2009 and promotes 100% grass-fed, organic dairy products and regenerative agriculture practices.
“This acquisition is an exciting step for Horizon as we continue to advance our strategic goals and invest in brands that are better for our customers,” Horizon Family Brands CEO Tyler Holm said in a statement, adding that Maple Hill’s growth across customers and channels aligns with Horizon’s capabilities and vision for the future.

The companies will leverage complementary capabilities in their supply chains to improve the efficiency and resiliency of their combined operations. Additionally, the companies said that combining their resources will accelerate product development and drive new innovation opportunities.
The Horizon and Maple Hill leadership teams said they will focus on the strengths of their respective brands while developing new opportunities for shared success.
The deal comes after the company changed its trade name from Horizon Organic Dairy earlier this year to reflect its portfolio optimization strategy.
“We are excited to nurture and grow our two great brands, Horizon Organic and Wallaby, while also actively pursuing the addition of other healthier brands that align with the portfolio we hope to build,” Holm said in a previous statement. “Ideally, over the next three to five years, our portfolio will consist of additional similar brands.”
