Mondelez International effective February 1, will move Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Luca Zalamella to Chief Operating Officer (COO), tasked with overseeing the company’s commercial operations, including marketing, sales and supply chain functions.
Mr. Zalamella will continue to support the company in reviewing its supply chain. According to Mondelez’s latest financial results, the efforts include addressing capacity constraints, introducing automation within production lines and improving the company’s cost structure, particularly in its U.S. bakery business.
During the earnings call, Zalamela also discussed the logistics sophistication behind the company’s DSD system, consolidating distribution centers, introducing new automation and improving inventory levels for retailers.

Mr. Zaramela has been the CFO of the company since 2018, and the company has a wealth of global senior talent. leadership He has experience with the company, having previously held roles in Latin America, Europe and North America.
Mondelez is seeking a CFO position. He will continue in both roles until a replacement is found.
