Applied manufacturing technology advances the ignition function with gold certification.

July 16, 2025 – Applied Manufacturing Technologies (AMT), North American Leader in Automation Engineering, Advanced Materials Handling, End-of-Stage Solutions, On-Demand Engineering Services, State-of-the-art Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) for Warehouses and Logistics, announces that one of its engineers has achieved Ignition Gold certification. Additionally, AMT actively trains three engineers and is certified Ignition Gold.

“We are pleased to announce that we are committed to providing a range of services to our customers,” said Craig Salvalaggio, president of AMT. “This is a meaningful step to expanding ignition expertise across the team.”

Developed by Inductive Automation, Ignition is an industrial server software platform designed to connect SQL databases to plant floor equipment. With a wide range of compatible brands and models, the ignition acts as a central hub for integrating production systems. The platform collects data, facilitates the design of industrial applications, and supports the deployment of web clients to users around the world. To get Ignition Gold Certification, engineers must register with an inductive university, complete comprehensive training, pass certification exams and demonstrate proficiency in the actual project.

“The engineers we train at ignition are not only familiar with this one platform, but are fully trained automation engineers with programming PLC and industrial robotics capabilities, and are currently developing skills to support ignition projects,” said Dinesh Vasabakthula, controlling Software Lead Engineers at AMT. “This allows engineers to bring considerable value to the project. In addition, there is a subset of the teams that can engineer and consult with the ‘back-end’ work involved in deploying the ignition. ”

AMT recently deployed its ignition platform to support leading life sciences companies by automating and monitoring key steps in its process. AMT has used Ignition’s capabilities for visualization, real-time data collection and system connectivity to enable facilities to track and control cycle parameters and product movements from entry to exit, ensuring transparency and traceability throughout the operation. The ignition system integrates with the customer’s MES and provides dashboards, alerts and audit logs to support both operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. As a result, our clients have improved overall product quality, ensured complete batch safety, and demonstrated the value of ignition in a complex, compliance-driven environment.

In addition to Ignition, AMT’s engineering services capabilities include automation consulting, industrial management, robotics programming, field and automation support, and AMR deployment, providing comprehensive solutions for optimizing manufacturing operations.
