Agrovista UK has completed the acquisition of Zantra Holdings Ltd, one of the UK’s largest independently owned pesticide and agriculture supply and agricultural businesses.
This transaction is a key step in Agrovista’s growth strategy and has compiled two highly respected names in crop production.
By integrating team and regional strengths, the acquisition is set to strengthen Agrovista’s position as a market leader in agricultural advice, seeds and crop protection products.
Currently, work is underway to ensure seamless integration between the two companies, with management teams working together to maintain service continuity and provide added value to their customers.
Chris Clayton, managing director of Agrovista UK, described Cambridgeshire-based Zantra as a “business that has long been praised,” and acknowledged the extensive efforts he has made inroads into development over the years.
He said the acquisition was “perfect for Agro Vista,” focusing on minimal overlap in both geography and core operations, emphasizing that “the farming team is very complementary.”
The move “fulls further strengthen Agro Vista’s ability to provide market-leading offers to its customers,” he said.
Murray Mackay, Managing Director at Zantra, also said, “We understand the importance of an independent in-house trial to share Agrovista’s customer-focused approach and support product selection and advice.
“We can build on the success of both businesses and look forward to continuing to combine my team with new businesses to enhance our service to our valued customers.”
Clayton concluded by highlighting the shared values of the two companies, particularly “a technically led approach to supporting growers.”
He added that the integration is “supported by an expanded depot network and provides best-in-class customer service.”
“AgroVista’s strategy is rooted in long-term, sustainable growth across the entire business,” he concluded.
