Alaska Airlines It has launched flights from Seattle to London and Iceland’s Reykjavik in May next year, and has expanded globally after acquiring the Hawaiian airline last year.
Alaska will fly daily between Seattle and London’s Heathrow Airport on Boeing.
787-9 Dreamliner, bets on demand for both business and leisure travel. Seattle Reykjavik will be offering a 737 Max 8 for spring and summer seasonal service for the approximately seven-hour flight.

The June career announced plans to begin nonstop between Seattle and Rome next year. A few weeks later, rival Delta Air Lines are also planning to fly between Seattle and Rome and Spain’s Barcelona. International travel, especially with premium seats, is superior to domestic demand in the US, where the market is oversupplied.
Alaska is also scheduled to begin flights between South Korea’s Seattle and Seoul in September. Daily services to Tokyo’s Narita International Airport began in May.
The carrier plans to have at least 12 intercontinental non-stops from Seattle’s home hub.
The airline has also announced a new colouring for the Boeing Dreamliner. The new 787-9 coming out of the factory line is said to have been inspired by Northern Lights, according to the airline.
When Alaska bought the Hawaiian, who had already had wide planes in the fleet for long-distance flights across the Pacific, it said it would retain two brands remaining on many aircraft.
“They will not change as a key component of our brand’s heritage and history,” Alaska said Tuesday.
