Bitflow and Averantech promote the next generation of autonomous mobile robots

July 14, 2025 – Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) that can navigate and execute tasks without human intervention rapidly incorporate a Vision AI system with GPUs. In the dynamic warehouse setup, Vision AI helps AMRS adapt and learns a variety of tasks, including route optimization, load management, inventory level monitoring, and predictive maintenance. By making warehouse operations more streamlined and reliable, Vision AI-guided AMR contributes to improving operational efficiency and safety while reducing labor costs.

Real-time analyzing visual data requires powerful computing and equally strong connectivity. Bitflow will feature Bitflow and its parent company, Abantech. Bitflow has announced that Cyton and Claxon Coaxpress (CXP) frame grabbers are fully compatible with Advantech’s Edge AI Incorporation system built on the Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin platform. The Bitflow Linux AARCH64 (64-bit arm) SDK allows seamless integration of the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin Developer Kit and frame grabbers. Together, Bitflow and Advantech hardware form the basis for weaponizing faster, more accurate vision AI solutions.

Bitflow CXP Frame Grabbers transfers camera data at rates of up to 12.5GB/s on a single 75 ohm coaxial cable, or aggregating four cables using a quad link model to transfer to an incredible 50GB/s up to 50GB/s. In addition to the data, control commands and triggers can be sent simultaneously to the camera with +/- 2 nanosecond trigger accuracy, providing 13W power over CXP (POCXP) with SAFPOWER. Isolating power with POCXP means that cameras connected to Bitflow frame grabbers will not be subject to electrical interference from adjacent motors driving the AMR. Additionally, CXP cables can typically run up to 40 meters (131 feet). This allows system designers to place the camera on their arm in the best possible way, avoiding the drawbacks of other protocol distances.

With the Imodule Extended PCIe slot, the Advantech Air-030 and MIC-733-AO AI Incerence System Box provide plug-and-play connectivity with Bitflow’s X8 PCI Express Gen 3.0 frame grabber.

Like the Bitflow Cyton and Claxon Frame Grabbers, the Advantech AI box has a compact footprint of AMR’s space-limited dense interiors. The Advantech AI Box is sturdy to withstand a wide range of operating temperatures, high humidity and heavy vibrations due to constant movement in AMR operations.
