Approximately 3,200 Boeing Defense unit workers continued their strike early Monday after rejecting a contract offer with the company.
Boeing provided a 20% wage increase, a $5,000 ratification bonus and other improvements. The latest offers that workers voted on Sunday included increased wages and improved retirement benefits for top wage scale employees, according to Local 837, an union of the International Mechanics and Aerospace Workers Association.
“Members of IAM District 837 spoke loudly and clearly. They deserve a contract that reflects their skills, dedication and the important role they play in the defense of our country,” said Tom Boelling, head of business representatives for IAM District 837. “We stand shoulder to shoulder with these working families as we fight for fairness and respect for our work.”
Boeing did not immediately comment.
