Bubbies Ice Cream, which has launched its new line of cookie Novelties, is currently part of Marubeni America Corp.
Bubby Ice Cream has a new owner. The Mochi ice cream brand, which is invading in the growing frozen dessert segment, has been acquired by Japanese investment company Marubeni Corp.
As part of the deal, Bubby will continue to produce Mochi Ice Cream at its Phoenix facility, but will become a subsidiary of New York-based Malbeni America. Other subsidiaries and affiliates of Marubeni America include Eastern Fish Co., Creekstone Farms Premium Beef, LLC, and Columbia Grain International.
“Marubeni is a global organization with value that suits us ourselves. We have the perfect combination of resources and expertise needed to accelerate growth in the long term,” said Jeff Stites, CEO of Bubbies Ice Cream, in a statement. “We are excited to join our brand portfolio and explore new opportunities to scale nationally and internationally based on Malbeni’s impressive network of supply and trading partners.”
