NEW YORK/Boston, October 1, 2025 – The EDM Association, the Global Trade Association for Data Management and Technical Standards, has announced the successful completion of the acquisition of assets of the Object Management Group (OMG), Open Membership and the Non-Profit Technology Consortium. This will create the world’s largest association of data, software, systems and standards experts, with two organizations complementary expertise.

The acquisition strategically coordinates OMG’s standard standards, frameworks and communities. This includes the OMG Standards Development Organization (SDO), Digital Twin Consortium, Area (Augmented Reality of the Enterprise Alliance), and CISQ (Consortium of Information and Software Quality) – EDM Association’s Data Management Best Practices and Specialized Development Program By leveraging a single authoritative standard partner and a global community of experts, members will have a wider range of tools, support, training and expertise to promote data and technology, including AI, and drive better outcomes for the organization.
