Government approval of sex offenders marks a setback from the narrative pushed by President Trump’s administration.
The US government review found no evidence that sex offender Jeffrey Epstein maintains a secret client list. He also reaffirmed that he committed suicide in federal custody in 2019, weakening long-standing theory of conspiracy.
The perception that Epstein does not maintain a list of clients who received minor girls indicates a clear setback from the narrative once promoted by members of the US President Donald Trump administration. Earlier this year, Attorney General Pam Bondy even claimed in an interview with Fox News that such documents were “sitting on my desk” and awaiting her review.
A memo released Monday by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI said “systematic reviews do not reveal the charges of the ‘client list’.” Nor did they find any credible evidence that Epstein had threatened a prominent person or basis for pursuing an investigation into an uncharged third party.
“After a thorough investigation, FBI investigators concluded that Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide with his cells at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City on August 10, 2019,” the memo said. “This conclusion is consistent with previous findings including autopsy findings from the office of the Southern District of New York in connection with the investigation of the office of the New York City Chief Inspector’s Office on August 19, 2019, November 2019, the investigation of the federal corrections officers responsible for Epstein’s defensive responsibility, and the investigation of the June 2023 DOJ office.”
“A further disclosure is not guaranteed to be appropriate,” he concluded.
The Department of Justice has also released 10 hours of surveillance footage from the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York. The footage revealed that no one had entered Epstein’s cells the day he died of suicide.
“We were all told we would come more.”
Conservatives sought evidence that the government had concealed Epstein’s activities quickly expressed anger at the announcement.

Separately, former Trump ally billionaire Elon Musk shared an image on the scoreboard, “Official Jeffrey Epstein’s Pedophile Arrest Counter,” set to zero.
On June 5th, Musk claimed that Trump had appeared in the Epstein Files and later posted a video to X showing Trump at a party with Epstein. These currently being removed were part of the ongoing feud between Musk and Trump in relation to Trump’s new tax cuts and spending bills.

Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones wrote, “The next thing that DOJ would say, ‘In fact, Jeffrey Epstein never existed’,” bringing to conclusions “on top illness.”
“Epstein’s Crime and Death”
On Monday, White House spokesman Caroline Leavitt defended the Department of Justice’s “a thorough investigation.”
When asked about the client list mentioned in a February interview with Fox News, Leavitt revealed that Bondi actually mentioned a broader collection of Epstein Case files.
Epstein was found dead in a prison cell in August 2019, weeks after being arrested on sex trafficking charges, in which he died in prison cell and seized the possibility of trial.
Despite conspiracy theorists continuing to challenge that conclusion, the Department of Justice and the FBI’s disclosure that Epstein took his own life is not a revelation.
For example, in November 2019, then-General William Barr told The Associated Press that he had reviewed security footage revealing that no one was in the area where Epstein was detained the night he died, and that he had expressed confidence that Epstein’s death was a suicide.
However, Epstein’s relationship with the rich and famous people made many attempt to hide their crimes and believe that others were behind his death.
If you or someone you know is at risk of suicide, these organizations may be able to help.
