EZ Automation Systems demonstrates a new inline configuration for the Pique Automated Surface Inspection System during ISA Automation Summit & Expo.
Jacksonville, Fla., October 2, 2025 – Advanced Automation leader EZ Automation Systems demonstrates a new inline configuration of the PIKE automatic surface inspection system at booth 310 at the ISA Automation Summit & Expo, held October 5-7 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
EZ Automation first introduced PIQU as a robotized 360 degree vision system that uses 3D laser triangulation and deep learning models to identify surface defects such as scratches, dents, shortages, missing components, and barcode errors. The ISA Summit live demo introduces a new design that holds back 360-degree robotics operating components, and instead unfolds the Pique’s surface inspection capabilities as a new inline configuration.
The new configuration highlights the platform’s ability to meet a variety of production environments and quality control requirements. This allows for seamless integration with production lines for quick and accurate inline inspection. However, the inline system uses PIQUE’s 3D laser triangulation and AI-driven inspection capabilities.
Equipped with EZ Eye Vision Processing Framework from EZ Automation, Pique can leverage prerequisite AI models for rapid deployment and intelligent automated inspection routines without extensive setup requirements. Pique’s adaptive learning capabilities are automatically adjusted over time to surface variations and product inconsistencies in order to constantly improve inspection accuracy. This continuous improvement based on historical data further reduces false rejections and helps manufacturers maintain consistent quality standards.
“We’re committed to providing a range of services to our customers,” said Ahmed Tawfik, CEO of EZ Automation. “The system’s ability to provide highly accurate and comprehensive surface inspections in configurations demonstrates the flexibility manufacturers need in today’s dynamic production environment.”
Unlike traditional vision systems with complex deployment and commissioning procedures, Pique acts as a plug-and-play solution, leveraging cloud-based analytics and remote monitoring capabilities. EZ Automation is advocating for the platform with a year of remote support.
Pique’s surface inspection capabilities are useful for a wide range of manufacturing sectors, from electronic and semiconductor manufacturing to the production of medical equipment and aerospace components. The system effectively identifies solder defects, PCB damage and component mismatches in electronic equipment manufacturing, and is excellent at inspecting machined metal parts where the acceptable range of surface quality and accuracy is often mission-critical. The platform’s ability to detect microsurface variations makes it suitable for applications with strict quality standards across the automotive, consumer goods and beverage industries.
The Pique System incorporates several features designed to optimize quality control operations. Its customizable inspection criteria can be supported by AI-Suggested quality metrics based on specific industry requirements, but the generation of automated inspection recipes minimizes switching downtime. The seamless integration of the platform allows for deployment to existing workflows without major changes.
The inline configuration on display at ISA Automation Summit & Expo will provide participants with a hands-on experience with Pique’s Surface Inspection technology.
