
Ford The automaker said sales were about 10 times the year-on-year increase of 1.4%, about 10 times the year-on-year increase.
New vehicle sales for the second quarter were 612,095, partially led by the profits of “electrified” vehicles, including F-Series trucks and hybrids and EVs.
The F-Series tracks scored their highest second quarter since 2019, reaching 222,459 from 11.5%. Overall new pickup sales totaled quarterly 288,564, according to Ford.
Ford electrified vehicles sales totaled 82,886 in the second quarter, up 6.6% from 2024. However, of those “electrified” vehicles, pure EVs fell by 31.4%, while hybrids rose by 23.5%.
In the first half of the year, Ford sold a record 156,509 EVs and hybrids, up 14.7% from last year.
Auto Industry Forecasters Cox Automotive and Edmunds forecast new vehicle sales, up 1.7% and 2% in the second quarter of the previous year, respectively. They cited strong markets in April and early May to drive the increase, but sales in June were expected to be softer.
Earlier this year, President Donald Trump implemented a 25% tariff on imported vehicles, and while many auto parts imported into the US initially advanced demand from price-sensitive buyers, analysts expect the rise in demand will decline if higher prices are kept.
rival General Motors Sales reported a 7.3% increase in the second quarter, and an approximately 12% increase in the first half of 2025. The automaker celebrated the growth in sales in trucks, crossovers, EVs and within profits in the luxury market led by Cadillac.
With Kokusai car manufacturer Kia Hyundai Both reported their highest sales results of all-time Tuesday, up 8% and 10% from a year ago, respectively.
