Elon Musk said in an X post early Thursday morning that Grok, the chatbot for AI company Xai, will be coming to the Tesla vehicle “soon.”
“The latest next week,” he said.
The news comes quickly that Grok will be on the Tesla vehicle just hours after Xai debuts its latest flagship AI model, the Grok 4. Fans were yellingly wondering why Musk spent an hour about Grok without mentioning Tesla’s integration.
This update was also brought about by Grok tunings that made chatbots more likely to become fraudulent. This includes anti-Semitic comments, Democrats and even rape threats. X temporarily defeated Grok on Wednesday, trying to solve the problem.
Musk is known for making Tesla-related announcements on X, his social media platform. In this case, they may have seen it come. Musk teases Groke as he will appear in Tesla vehicles as an AI assistant for months, saying Tesla drivers can talk to the car and chat with it and ask GROK to perform certain tasks.
A hacker who went last week under the name “Green” was surviving Tesla firmware and discovered that drivers could choose “personalities” for certain glokes, including NSFW (not work-safe). Many personalities seem to be able to choose from, including debate, intrigue, child stories, sexy, therapist, indifference.
Green’s findings also suggest that Grok will only be available on new vehicles using hardware 3.
Glock also recently confirmed that Tesla’s humanoid robot Optimus will be the voice and brain of the mask.
