L’Oréal has invested in an AI-powered startup, Noli, that acts as a personal beauty advisor. The “AI Beauty Trust Agent” tool delivers personalized, science-backed recommendations for consumers by drawing on beauty science, clinical skincare, product reviews, and consumer data.

The platform uses a “Beauty Knowledge Graph” trained on over 1 million skin data points and thousands of product formulations. It leverages AI to decode a user’s unique beauty profile and recommend products from more than 21 brands, including CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, Kiehl’s, Lancôme and L’Oréal Paris.

“In a world of infinite choices, trust is the new currency,” L’Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus said in a statement, highlighting that the personalization capabilities of Noli are powered by AI and anchored in trust.

To help accelerate growth, Noli has entered into strategic collaborations with Accenture’s AI Refinery platform, Microsoft’s Azure Open AI and NVIDIA’s microservices, which are supporting the startup’s AI journey and operational expansion. The partnerships will provide Noli with advanced reasoning capabilities, global scalability and end-to-end data security.

The company plans to enter other beauty categories beyond skincare and haircare, and countries, following a successful pilot launch in the UK.
