lucid group The company continues to increase production of its new SUV Gravity, with production and sales increasing significantly last year.
The company announced Monday that deliveries rose to 15,841 units last year, a 55% increase from 2024, including a more than 70% year-over-year increase in the fourth quarter.
The company also achieved its previously lowered production target for 2025 of about 18,000 units, lower than the initial estimate of up to 20,000 units. Last year, it produced 18,378 EVs, including 8,412 EVs in the fourth quarter.
Much of that increase is likely due to the long-term production ramp-up of the Gravity SUV, which faces a number of challenges, primarily supply chain shortages, the company said.
In addition to Lucid’s own challenges, EV makers also face industry-wide issues, including increased costs due to tariffs and slowing EV sales forecasts, and regulatory changes such as the end of federal consumer incentives that have a negative impact on sales and profits.
