NASA’s live programming includes rocket launches, spacecraft and Earth scenery from space. Netflix This summer.

NASA said the move is part of an effort to reach global audiences. The agency noted that the content is free, ad-free on the NASA app and website and already has live programming.

NASA+ was launched in 2023 as a way to make space content easier to access to general space content.

“The 1958 National Aerospace Act requires the sharing of space exploration stories with the widest possible audience,” said Rebecca Sirmons, general manager of NASA+.

NASA did not disclose financial details of the transaction.

Partnerships arise as Elon Musk’s SpaceX-led commercial rocket launches are surged. Space launched 81 times in the first half of 2025, according to Space. It also remains the only US company with a spacecraft certified to take astronauts to the International Space Station.

Meanwhile, NASA has supported missions in low Earth orbit.

With over 700 million users, Netflix stocks are trading at the highest ever. Streaming services have risen nearly 51% since the start of the year.
