Broiler producers are being urged to apply as Nuffield launches a new poultry meat scholarship aimed at increasing representation from the sector.
While the Nuffield Agriculture Scholarship is well-established across agriculture, organizers say broiler production has been historically underrepresented.
In response, the Nuffield Farming Poultry Meat Scholarship was created to encourage further involvement of the poultry meat industry and attract applicants working directly in broiler production.
This scholarship is made available every two years with financial support from industry leaders 2SFG, Aviagen, Hubbard, and Cobb.
Nuffield is looking for broiler innovators who are willing to consider the key challenges facing the sector, while bringing practical insight and international experience back to the business.
Nuffield Farm Scholarship Trust is a registered charity focused on developing future leaders who can drive positive change across the agriculture, food, horticulture and rural industries.
Successful applicants will be able to research a topic of their choice and participate in a minimum of eight week study tour anywhere in the world, expanding their understanding of their field.
Approximately 25 people are awarded Nuffield Scholarships each year, covering a wide range of interests across agriculture and rural economics.
Since 1947, over 1,100 Nuffield Scholars have completed programs aimed at making an impact on agriculture and food production in the UK and around the world.
Applicants must work in agriculture, food, horticulture, forestry, or rural industry, be between 25 and 45 years of age, and do not need a formal educational background.
Although candidates are expected to be well established in their careers and demonstrate a clear passion for their field, the scholarship will not be awarded to those in full-time education or to further research projects.
Applications for the next Nuffield Scholarship will open in January 2026 and broiler producers and poultry professionals are encouraged to come forward.
