August 4, 2025 – Siemens was awarded the Platinum Medal (the best possible distinction) at the 2025 Ecovadis Sustainability Assessment. This achievement is one of the top 1% of approximately 130,000 companies that have been rated worldwide by Ecovadis, a provider of business sustainability assessments.
The Platinum Medal highlights Siemens’ unwavering commitment to sustainability and reflects important achievements in all areas of Ecovadis’s assessment, including environment, ethics, labor, human rights, and sustainable sourcing. Ecovadis rated Siemens with an 85-point score. Additionally, Siemens mobility was assessed individually, achieving a score of 84 points.
Over 90% of Siemens’ business allows customers to achieve positive sustainability impacts in three key areas: decarbonization and energy efficiency, resource efficiency and circularity, and people centrality and society.
“Achieving the highest score of all time and winning the top 1% of rated companies reinforces our position as a sustainability leader and recognizes the dedication of our people,” said Eva Liesenharbor, head of global sustainability at Siemens. “Sustainability is at the heart of our business and continues to expand its impact in the fields of industry, infrastructure and mobility, making our customers more competitive, more resilient and more sustainable.”
“To be awarded the Ecovadis Platinum Medal again is a strong testament to our key position in the railroad industry, reflecting our commitment to integrating our customers’ sustainable solutions by maintaining strict sustainability standards across operations and supply chains.”
The Ecovadis Business Sustainability assessment is based on international sustainability standards, including the 10 Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, the International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, and ISO 26000.
