Wendy’s CEO Kirk Tanner has been appointed new CEO of Hershey Companyon August 18th.
Tanner is replacing Michele Buck, who retired almost 20 years later in Hershey, including nearly eight CEOs.
Tanner joined Wendy’s in 2024 more than 30 years later. PepsiCoHe led the company’s North American beverage unit. His move to Hershey indicates a return to the consumer’s packaged product space.
“Kirk is a shocking leader with a track record in the food and beverage industry with a great combination of customer and consumer passion, commercial insight and operational scale,” Mary Kay Haven, director and director of Hershey’s CEO Search Committee, said in a press release Tuesday. “His deep experience in snacks, drinks, M&A and innovation has the role of CEO and executive roles of a public company, making it a good place to bring Hershey to the future.”
Buck originally announced plans to retire from Hershey at the beginning of the year. She will remain as Hershey’s advisor until the end of the year.
The Wendys appointed CFO Kencook as interim CEO when Tanner resigned on July 18th. UPS Before that.
Wendy’s board has begun searching for a permanent exchange.
